Using Parent/Guardian’s email
You don’t have or you have not provided your own personal email so your counsellor will use your parent/guardian’s email address to send information about your sessions.
This means your parent/guardian may see the emails your counsellor may send.
Emails are not 100% private, but your counsellor will only send what’s needed (like session times or resources).
Privacy in Sessions
Your sessions are private, just between you and your counsellor.
For this to work, you need to be in a private space where no one else can hear (not your parents, family, or friends).
This can help you feel safe to talk and makes the sessions most helpful.
Confidentiality
What you say in sessions stays private.
The only times your counsellor may need to share information is if they’re worried about your safety, someone else’s safety, or if the law requires it.
